I just wanted to get some feedback on here about a re-map for the GTD, looking at a bluefin??
Car's done 4,500k now feeling loose, just think it needs a bit more power?? Still not sure though? Thanks :undecided:

I've just been out in my mate's Leon FR CR 170 (same engine but bumpier chassis).
It flies.
Re-map it?
Ooooh yessss!

Well I'm not into remaps at the moment. The thing you will have to watch is most can be detected with the dealers VAG-COM, therefore voiding the warranty.
There are those in the UK that are a plugin unit which can be removed.
Diesel Tune UK (http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/vehicle-volkswagen-vw_golf-vi_2.0-tdi-170-ps-cr-stage-2) for £386.10.
A user on another forum thats is not worth posting the link as you have to join to read it. Had this fitted to his 1.6 TDI 105PS (http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/vehicle-volkswagen-vw_golf-vi_1.6-tdi-105ps) and he is happy.

Well the latest is my ECU has been scrambled, its locked ??? Cant be mapped by the blue fin gadget!!

Do what I did and buy the wife a Toyota Yaris. When you think your Golf isn't fast enough, go for a spin in hers and it'll give you a shot of reality check!

Steve: I don't think yours is as I seem to remember it sat in the showroom for some months. I think only cars with BW starting 2010 have this and even this is not certain. I don't think mine is locked according to the master tech. I am sure you will be ok.

Superchips checked the car over Asker, and they confirmed its locked. They said it can still be done but the ECU needs to come out which is no good to me really. If I had it done then the bluefine hand held device would have been great for me. They tried to download it with the device but its locked off!!

Steve: Why don't you get the Chip Express plug-in module for Diesel engine upgrade? Supposed to be excellent. Wish there was one for a petrol engine.

Its locked though otherwise I would have done it?? :smug:

I thought it was a plug-in and does not interfere with the ECU. Got it wrong probably.
-
It is a plug in module but I don't see the GTD advertised on their site.
The only downside is if you are involved in a crash and can't get the bonnet up to remove it, you might be fecked as it will be a helluva lot more obvious to the insurance than a remap. At least though it won't affect your warranty as you can just unplug it for any warranty work.

GTD HERE (http://www.chipexpress.com/products/2522/)
There was a discussion on one of the rocco sites and they seemed to think that the ECU gradually adapted to the device and after a while made no difference.
-
Steve: Here is the information for the GTD.

Yes it is there p3asa as pointed out by other members. You just have to select the Make, Model and Engine from the dropdown ComboBoxes under
1: Select your make.

Steve: Go for it!
You'll leave all GTis trailing in your dust!
And then I'll really hate you!
