Title: vag com was working, now its not please help

so the other day i had a problem with my laptop so put in the windows repair disc and all sorted now i got vag com back (as i had lost all my shortcuts so had to search for them) its still verified so is the full version, i plugged the lead into the laptop and car and it come up found new hardware so i went onto vag com and it did not work think it came up a message saying

interface status = 3

interface not ready
possible reasons

incorrect comm selected
interface not plugged in
ignition not turned on
k line stuck

so i tried all 4 comm and tested them and could not get a connection, what has happened it worked fine before i had the problem with my lap top

please help im in limp mode

did you use the same USB port?
