Hi guys!! i'm new here, so go easy on me
I've just bought my Golf GTI MK4, it's beautiful and i've well and truly fallen in love with it, however, the key that came with it seems to be missing the metal part that will allow me to attach it to my keyring and stop me from doing what i seem to do with everything else!!... lose it!! ......... is it a good idea to drill a small hole into the top of the key fob or will this most likely mess up the whole thing?? .. i'm just thinking it'll save me quite a bit of money that way is al!!
Thanks for taking the time to read this guys, any feedback will be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers.

Try this one should be a case of swapping bits over.

Thanks for your quick reply Phil,
Mine has just the two buttons. Is it easy to program??
Is it really a bad idea to put a hole through the top??
Cheers. :nerd:

I'm unsure but by drilling it would be easy to cause more damage, better off buying a two button fob off ebay and seeing if you can just swap the shells over, there are a few on there look pretty cheap as well.

I think, but I'm not 100% sure, you can buy a kit to refurbish keys from the dealer...
