Title: idle control valve????

does anyone know if there is any differance between the idle control valve on a 8v and a 16v golf?i know the part numbers are differant,but does that really matter as long as they are performing the same.

i was always told they are different. i assume its with the fact that the 16v ISV is controlled by an ISV module whereas the 8v ISV is controlled by the ECU
