Post by: Hulmie on 11 August 2010, 15:18
Wheres the best place to feed the Vac pipe through the bulk head on a 1.8T to connect to a boost gauge in the drivers vent?

Agreed! Nor down the wing and into the door.

Best off putting it though the fuse box. Remove the scuttle pannel on the OS and put it down though the black box.

was looking at the bonnet cable grommit but thought it wasnt a good idea. i dont have a black box but i do have a white box, take it theres a grommit in there i can push it through. Where abouts would it come through on the inside of the car?

That's the one. It comes out behind the fuse box.

took mine in through the top fuse box theres a spare grommet under the main one iirc i went through that and pushed down and the vac line comes out behind the fuse box on the drivers side end panel  just a case of feeding your pipe up to the vent then paul

This is what I have done but then found out my vac pipe is too short to reach the drivers vent so I'm looking for another way through the firewall. I can't seem to find this grommet,I'll have a proper look again tomorrow

go up to your scuttle then down in the gap between your door and the wing, there's a grommet there you can put a hole in and feed it into the cabin. I'll get a pic of mine later if I get a chance
