Title: urgent help needed re whatg spline bit :)
Post by: robz on 09 August 2010, 13:25: hi all, as above, my clutch has gone again!!
and i need to invest in cheapo spline bit to get the shafts off the box!
does anyone know what size spline bit i need to get the shafts out of a '93 mk3 gti 8v box??

8mm 12-spline bit, like these:

You'll need a 9mm 12-sided socket to undo the clutch cover IIRC, too.

got my mrs bro helping but he cant lift ought cos hes got a bad back, so at least i have moral support :D
gutted! just hope that this time it fixes it properly! just wished i changed that push rod the first time.... if only ya could see the future :D

plus, i thought you stand at the dock and blow up every mk3 coming onto the island :D
