Basically took out my fuel sender/float thingy for closer inspection today, all seems fine, now im putting everything back on and theirs these two metal ring clips on the two rubber pipes that connect to the fuel sender ... and I simply I cant put them back on!!! Ive tried using pliers but its impossible? Does any one know what Im talking about??? if so how do I put the clips back on?
-
I know exactly what you are talking about!
I got them off and couldnt get them back on so got some small jubilee clips.
-
If I re-call correctly im sure theirs a proper tool for those clips ... cant believe I cant get them back on! ive temporarily put zip ties on them.
Where did you get the jubilee clips and what size are they?

Aint got a pic, but basically their like jubilee clips but instead of being able to screw them tight, these ones have a little hook so you have to compress to clip them on, but its impossible to clip them using pliers not because it doesnt bend, but because its impossible to get enough grip without blocking the lip that the hook goes onto.

Corbin clips, you need corbin pliers, they are common on (German) washing machines;

side cutters or end cutters are good for gettin them back on! if they're the clips im thinking of. just make sure there not so sharp they cut the metal, find some oldish ones.
if your meaning the ones that look simmilar to these:

the proper tool s pretty much an end cutter with a slot in it

ahh yeah they are all over the engine bay too, i replaced all mine with new ones from the dealer (they come blue when new) my pliers just fitted over them
