Title: heaters wont work

i have just bought an 8v gti and my heaters wont work, just wondering if anyone has any ideas, so far ive only checked the fuse.

Fan motor spins or not?
Actually no heat at all?
Etc search for heater matrix or Fan solinoid or even Heater fan that search button is real helpfull at times like these! :nerd:

well the blowers dont work on eith 1,2, or 3. no air.

Sounds like the blower fan has had it... Or the electric bit on the blower.. do a search on here or look at a Haynes manual and it tells you how to test it..

BUT it could also be the heater Matrix has gone too... Is the passenger carpet wet??

nope, carpet is dry, but just had a look on the car and had a fiddle on it, got the fans to work on 2 and 3 but not on 1.

Not the matrix then... Try spraying the fan switch with some WD40..

You can also get blowers on Ebay... they cost about a Tenner & Postage..

Sounds like the power coil thingy attached to the fan itself!
I've got a piccy somewhere...... Or switch, but unlikely its the green coil pack thats gone!
