Title: Anti-roll bar diameters
Post by: dubdriver on 07 August 2010, 23:57
Hi,

I was wondering if someone knew what the anti-roll bar diameters were for a 1.8, would a VR6 or GTI have thicker anti-roll bars or are they all the same in the mk3 range?

Many thanks.

if you go to the powerflex web site they tell me there is a choice of 18mm or 20mm , but no models listed . so just a choice of 2 . hope that helps

Gti 16v and vr6 have the plus axle suspension so not as easily interchangeable.

Cheers guys, what would you guys suggest to reduce the roll on my 1.8 driver. I want to maintain ride quality and keep it looking as standard as possible, should i try to replace the standard anti roll bars with vr6 or gti ones. Or alternatively fork out £200+ for some eibach, weitec etc upgraded ones?

Gti/vr6 arent a straight swap as they use different drop links. Eibach would probably be best but you would have to change front and rear as front only can induce more understeer.
