hi there
has anyone else had the same problem and not been able to find where to find a maf sensor for a golf gti 2.0t fsi online.
i dont want to buy of vw as its to expensive any tips where to buy one online from?
also if left unplugged will it cause my engine any problems?
thanks in advance for any advice given

No idea where to buy one from sorry, but I wouldn't leave it unplugged if you plan on driving the car. From what I understand the MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor) tells the ECU how much air is coming into the car, which in turn lets it decide how much petrol to put in to get the best mix. If you leave it unplugged and drive the car, you could end up f*cking up you engine.

Getting a maf for a non-diesel mk5 is near impossible online.
You will have to suck up and go to your dealer for it.

We can ship one out to Great Britain

Try these guys:- http://stores.ebay.co.uk/vwaudirecyclers
I sourced a throttle body from them for my GTI for about £80, a few months ago.
VW RRP on the part is over £300, if not more, IIRC.
Worth an email, surely?

Be careful on fleabay, there are a huge number of non-official MAFs in circulation - if you need one, bite the bullet with VW or get someone in the trade to source one via TPS.

What sort of postage costs would one be looking at?
