Title: Buying Advice.
Post by: steve1978 on 06 August 2010, 10:04
Hi

I am new, I had a 1996 golf VR6 highline back in 2000 and to this day (other than my lotus exige and on a par with my 205 gti 2.9) it has been the best car that I have owned. I am now the not so proud owner of a greedy Vectra which I want rid of. I am thinking about getting a Golf again. I have about £6000. I am after a 5 door car as I have a baby on the way. I am after something that I won’t hate going to the petrol station in, efficiency is a priority I would also like it to be a bit nippy.

Any suggestion on what car/model to get?

It is for sale
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=162014.0

Ignore that price as that's a price I was looking for with everything still on the car

A few bits are being removed at the moment - namely wheel spacers, boost gauge, steering wheel and interior trim around the radio.  Also I'll be removing the stereo and re-fitting the original unit. Wheels may also be up for sale unless a potential buyer gives me close to the price I'm after for the car

MY details are in the ad so if you're interested drop me a line   Otherwise good luck in your search for a Golf :afro:

Hi thanks for the link, i may of been interested with all the gear on but without all the gear it is a bit old and tired lookiong, (no offence, so am i!) also it has more miles than i was looking for.

I would want a 50-60k miler. bout a 55 06 plate ish. it is mainly for the missis to run the nipper around in. i just hate this damn vectra.

I was looking at the audis also but to get a face lift model (big round grill) you are talking mega money.

No probs - I'm taking some stuff off so it appeals to a wider market really.  Mechanically it needs nothing doing

Funnily enough I'm selling up and replacing it with an Audi

400 miles this year??   I've done that and more this week    Steve_PD covers 600 miles a week in his

Slower than a slow snail.  They aren't turbo charged.  Much better going for a TDI; better performance and economy
