Mines up in a couple of weeks mate, its a nerve racking time! Good luck!
-
Good luck mate, I'm not to bothered taking the golf, it's normally good as gold. It's my Clio sport that sh!ts me up, and my wallet
-
well heres hoping! local guy si use are pretty good. Had an old audi 80 befoer the golf and took advantage of Audis generous free mot. Suprise suprise, required all brakes done,cv gaiter, handbarake cables, fuel lines etc cost 927+vat. idid ask if they realise the car was worth 300? lol then in true typical fashion they advised me that all tyres had only 5-6mm tread left on them in typically scary fashion! would i like new ones?? thank you kindly ill have my failed car back with full valet ta!
off to local garage (knew fine that car didnt need any of that!) cv gaiter required. job done!
so like i said, heres hoping!
-
Check all the silly things like lights/indicators/number plate lights plus water in washers etc.
-
yeah i usually advise that too how mental getting car back with a fail for a 10p bulb! the guys are pretty good tho and would stick it in or tell me to do it when i got her back. Just hoping it ainy got anythiong more serious up wi her! 4.10 and no phonecal yet...............
-
How did it get on?
-
You should not panic Mate....I go to mine confident that nothing major will fail. I check around my motors on a regular basis and do jobs as and when required. When I turn up at the testing station I have a laugh with the guy and show no nerves. If you look worried then the guys will think something is wrong straight away. Be confident in your old girl Buddy but not cocky and things will be fine. What's the worst that could be wrong ??

couple of font abs sensors.
Some prick had cut the wires to them previously! nice! lol
im also a great believer in a clean car gets an easier time. i know it should be by the book but if ur motor looks well kept they wont go looking too hard??

-
Good result then....2 sensors are easy enough to change.
-
it also had a loose steering wheel, never noticed as u had to pull it towars you to make it slack. weird!
whats a couple o sensors? £50 the pair? hr to fit?
al
-
you are bang on unless the sensors are rusted in. might have to take the hub off to get a difficult sensor out
-
went for my mot as well......
failed emissions test before he even took it on the ramp  but was easily sorted after couple mins of revving
few advisories :undecided:
then he let it rip...... front passenger footwell has a hole and so does the rear passengers. The only thing that was between the car and the floor was carpet. now in for welding.
-
Ah that aint too bad, quite easy places to weld!
-
yeh apparently he has to take out the seats and the carpet to weld from both sides.... £150 sound reasonable?
-
Yeah that sounds fair!
