Title: Cleaning tips
Post by: dooby on 04 August 2010, 08:30
Hello Fellas.....

In need of a bit of advice.

1- car has cream leather interior and the seats are getting deep lines and have gotten so dirty that im finding it hard to bring them back to life. Tried a steam cleaner with a small round brush on the end of it got some of the grime out but it was also getting the colour out of the leather from scrubing so much. apart from all the leather cleaner on the market can i use any sort of quemical that ill get rid of all the grime or is it not advised to try this at all?

2- I also want to give the engine a good clean. I know i should cover some electrical bits on the engine, my question is - do i have to realy cover bits up or if i leave the car in the sun to dry with the bonnet opened for like 2-4 hrs it will be ok?

Yeah Gliptone is very good. If you are going to apply a degreaser to the engine by brush then no need to cover up electric parts.

Regarding your leather I would suggest trying a few products from these people, use them myself and found them to be easy to use and effective !
