Had the GTI on the RR today....and as i suspected there is something wrong
First couple of runs and the car was struggling to push 200bhp. This was with the revo map
So the covers were taken of to have a look at the plugs and a possible suspected misfire at 5k revs. The plugs generally looked sha66ed and was told the residue on them is often a sign of contaminated fuel. The gent at RSTUNING to his credit spent alot of time on the phone to Revo.
It was concluded that this is a known fault with the mk6 gti and something the dealers are well aware of. Has been known to happen to a few brand new ones with 0 miles. So the car will now be booked into VW with the hope that they will change the plugs FOC.
On a positive note, and due to the time spent on the phone to Revo the guys down at RSTuning near Armley are now also going to become Revo dealers
more to follow....

Interesting.

Are you saying the plugs are knackerd due to remap or general fault on mk6? :undecided:

Must be due to a general fault if cars with 0 miles at dealers are effected....

looks like its a general fault according to revo, and that dealers are well aware of... but mine could be down to fuel contamination :undecided:

What exactly is this general fault affecting some Mk6's? Is it the wrong plugs, faulty plugs, or something more complex like under/overfuelling? It isn't clear from your original email.

Wow, this causing your on off boost situation then? I am still having the on off boost but its ot like the car is slow, when the boost kicks in it flies , then dies off again  then boosts  then off

Sorry im not being very clear... but the info was kind of relayed to me whilst the gent was on the phone to Revo. the fault seems to be with the plugs. Not sure exactly what the "known" issue is, but VW are aware of a problem with the plugs.
They suggested a return to std map and booking it in saying there is a misfire @ 5k revs... let them investigate further
