Title: Brakes snatchy?
Post by: Hartside on 02 August 2010, 19:29
Anyone else find the brakes very snatchy at low speeds? I'm very gentle on the brakes but even at that, I find a waft of my foot accross the brake pedal just about bangs your nose off the windscreen at times.

Can't believe they are so sensitive. Mine seem quite progressive.

Depends what you're used to. Not wearing boots are you?

How new is your car? Brakes will sometimes be snatchy if not used for a while or are still bedding in.

Mine are fine.

Typical VAG over-servo'd in my view.
Snatchy at low speeds, not especially progressive when pressing on - but acceptable - and downright poor if you really work them...I've had my car changing lanes under braking wheen they get really hot and you lean on them.
Probably partly down to soft suspension bushes too...but not great for a car capable of the performance - especially when remapped.
I think a decent upgrade is on the cards...

I must admit that's my feeling too.

I've had the car for a month and done around 800miles, so the brakes should have bedded in by now.

Its a car designed for lazy people   i find the brakes over servoed myself but i do on all modern VW group products and most modern cars full stop.
