The fitting is pretty straight forward. The only real problem that comes to mind is a loss in performance since the engine was designed to recirculate the air rather than blow it off. It might not be noticeable at first, but over time it will cause errors as the ecu sees less air coming in then it expected, leading to a loss in power. There's a more detailed explanation in the mk4 section, since their engines are designed for recirculating air too.

If you want to hear the sound of the recirculator more you can fit a panel filter or induction kit and an exhaust, it will be a lot more noticeable then.

Exactly,to put such a thing on a mk5 should be a crime !

Still as long as it makes a noise though eh ?........

Hi

I know that this thread is a little old - but seriously, a dump valve is not a good option? I had a bailey one on the scoob and loved it. Certainly gave presence on the road. is this a serious no and if so, you mention exhausts - where shodul I look for a tasteful one?

if your after the noise just fit a induction kit i.e a tube with a filter on the end or lollypop as people call them ha then you get the dump vlave noise and no loss of power.

i think forge cant have thought it through very well when makeing this as they make quailty products other wise. vw made it recirc for a reason and poeple should try to keep it as vw intended

Yes, but your scooby doesnt have a 2.0T VAG engine in it. As said earlier in this thread the 2.0T engine is designed to recirc, not blow off.
