Title: golf gti mk5 2005 engine problem - first post please help

hi there

i have a golf gti 2.0t gti 2005 5 door

over the past month i have noticed when driving on the motorway between 4th,5th and 6th gear it feels like theres no pull in the engine.  by this i mean there is poor acceleration in higher gears it seems to struggle when you put you foot on the accelerator. 

there is something wrong within the engine and i cannot figure it out

a few points that might help

i ought it maybe the oil so i topped up with synthetic oil and for a few days after the engine pulled and worked brilliant the engine felt brand new.  then it went back to the way it has been running before. 

also there is no engine malfunction or similar coming up on the dashboard

there is also no oil leaks or any visible damage to the engine or under carraige

give it  good service and have the fault codes read to see if there are any. failing that get someone to look at the live data
