Title: LET 20 motor

seems the motor i've been building for the syncro can't cut the mustard.  so what are ppls thoughts on useing vhaxhall engines ?

Shortly you're going to need slapping around, given all this talk of Vauxhall and French clutter.

This is going to require a digger for it to have any real impact.

I say go for it. One of the things I loved about the mini scene was the engine conversions from other brands and it's something more dubbers should try. I love the scoob powered MKI GTI.

There was a xe'd mk2 that used to go down no rice, haven't seen it for a year or so though. Go for it!

i built a xe nova a few years back, only engine mods i done was a power cap,turbo injectors, pullies and fse boot valve and it came off the rollers with 174bhp and those engines can take alot of abuse to lol :wink:

I take it your referring to the Z20LET?
If so its becoming a common engine to drop into corsa's
Pretty tuneable and with a stage 1 remap your looking at 260bhp! Then you can upgrade with the VXR turbo etc...
Fairly reliable and fuel efficient!!

my mate has a 340bhp nova c20let. now that is stupidly quick!!!!!

the c20lets are the better engine over the z20let..

Easier to fit maybe but Z20let is leagues ahead of a C20 which are getting long in the tooth now.

I think 270bhp from an NA ABF really should be sufficient without defacing your Golf with a Vauxhall motor....

if it was 2wd i would be looking at honda as they have motors doing 9000 rpm / 100 bhp ltr stock without boost. butu would have to use hoda gearbox as iirc they spin backwards  :sad:

the attraction of vhauxhall engines is there cheep and i work with them more than probaly any other petrol engine,   anyway crancks out the ABF again and will be haveing a quick poish monday ready for refitting and another go
