Right I have a alpine ida-x200 iPod only and it has a button for phone, as a hands free what will I need to do this and will this work with iPhone 3g

Google is your friend - you need an Alpine KCE-300BT.

I have an alpine 114bti, with built in parrot Bluetooth. It works great with iPhone 3GS.
Should be the same.
