Title: Admiral Insurance
Post by: DYL4N on 30 July 2010, 10:32
Insured my golf Mk4 T last night.....i think they have the wrong details.

Basically, its a golf mk4 1.8 T, 2000 year.
5 speed, recaro cloth interior (not leathers).

I thought these were 150bhp, (which ups my premium by £30), but the woman from admiral said it was the 180bhp (which uped the premium by £121).

How can i prove to them its not the 180bhp?

They are stupid. 180 MK4 ALL came with a 6 speed gearbox. If yours is 5 speed then it 100% is a 150 version. Not to mention the fact that the AUQ engine with the 180BHP didnt come out till 2002.

Bunch of useless monkeys these insurance companies.

IM going to phone them up and ask for a re-fund. I was confused that it said 180bhp

Unless the engine has been changed, and they've put a 5speed gearbox on it

Ill eat my hat if someone has actually bothered to do that.

By the way, I've just noticed your sig. Your arguing with them over the engine power output but you have a remap and FMIC which Im assuming you have told them about ? ?

Just been on the phone with them. I was insured on a totally different car!!!

Yes I always insure all mods on my car, the reason i was concerned was because they had the wrong "base" model.

Ive been refunded £80, and i asked for more due to the fact i was driving with no insurance, which is very dangerous
