Im thinking of buying this Stereo for my mk3 golf
I know it won't be a straight up swap but how difficult will it be?

Cheers guys in advance

a double din unit in a mk3? def not a straight swap!!
-
Yeah I knew it wasn't that straight forward
But it is possible though. Right?
-
Think again mate!
-
Not really possible mate as you have to move too much that wont move! Heater controls for a start!

Could always remove the two heater vents but it would cost a fortune as you would need to have a piece made to fit the shape of the stereo and the dash where the vents fitted. Not really worth it IMO. Another option would be to fit it in the cubby hole by the gearstick. This would be easier and you could buy a blanking plate for the original stereo slot.

Cool cheers for the help man think I'll just upgrade the head unit to a more easier one for now :
 and then the original speakers, know of any good stereos if I'm going for OEM look? I just can't bare cassette any more
