hi i have a mk3 golf gti 2.0 8v but it has a stutter problem pretty much everythign been chanced apart from the fuel pump far as i know also teh car feels like its being held back when u put your foot down in most gears revs go up but car just feels like some one is pulling it the otherway if that makes sence. has any1 else had the same problem and if so what could this be?? thanks

any faults on vag-com? what engine code is it, or if you dont know what year

have you cleaned the t/b? did this on mine and it solved it.
does it stall?

have a search mate, common problem with usually the same set of causes.
any stalling/cutting out?

mines just been in the garage for this problem turned out the maf sensor was fecked try unplugging it and take her 4 a spin c if it drives better?

thanks ever so much i think it was the maf censor if its the one just above the air filter :)either way iv disconnected it an its now working smooth as. just curious will it do any damage if i leave it disconnected for a while till i get a new one?

not realy mate no it will just run realy rich so it will just drink fuel lol

Can end up causing damage if left too long.

right ok what sort of damage and any1 know how much they are and wheres the cheapest place to get them?

get a wanted ad up on here and get into contact with people who are breaking the same engined car on here, normally loads!
i got a used one for £15 off someone on here!

Mine did this, i just very carefully cleaned up the one that is currently in there (MAF sensor). Undo the two torx screws and pull it out, it is probably covered in black stuff.
