Title: Carbonio Intake from AwesomeGTI
Post by: PenguinGTI on 27 July 2010, 20:35
Hi has anyone bought the Carbonio intake for the mk6 from Awesome GTI (it is the APR intake if anyone knows it by that name).

Just wondering if when you buy it you then need to fork out for a panel filter to go inside it or if it is all included.

I have ordered the Carbonio and intake pipe, getting fitted next week, i presume it all comes with filter etc, not very clear on the site

it must do cos it replaces the standard filter box, can't really sell it without (be only a part system if they do)

Yeah that's what I am wondering about. Well I'll maybe hold off then and see how you get on with yours before I make any decisions.

Careful guys, I remember with my Ducatis you end up spending a lot of cash for minimal gains! I spent a grand on a bike once and gained 5bhp!

I got pissed REALLY pissed.
1. The filters were falling off and they never notified the public.  Mine fell off.
2. Carbonio is an Ahole and pissed me off making it sound like I was some 3 year old trying to install it
3. The filters are a PITA to put on. As in getting the filter piece on the tube.

Please note some replies were removed so it might not make a whole lot of sense

I have the Carbonio intake and i think its a great piece of kit! Sounds great, lovely roar and i have no doubt there will be a improvment in preformance plus its need for Stage 2 if REVO ever get their finger out about it! Also its a cone induction, npt a panel filter!

Looks good too!

Hells yeah

A CAI on the GTI does make a difference more sound but a little HP jump as the stock system is restrictive. The stage 2 is pretty much cosmetic

I have one from Evolution Motorsport one. If your standard dont bother this will do nothing for your car. However if ur mapped. It makes the engine louder. You can hear air passing though the filter and releases a nice chatter upon changing gears. Also a good difference in pickup when putting your foot down.  Ide recommend it to any1 on here looking to buy an induction.  I also have a cold air feed coming from the front vent next to the foglight. Top sh!t imo
