Title: problem?
Post by: Live in Hope on 27 July 2010, 12:05
HI Guys,

When i start my 8v mk3 it sometimes for a split second acts like the battery is flat and a micro chirp from the alarm and my clock milage and everything blank and reset? but car then starts fine! but i dont want to wait till it wont start.
I fitted a new starter motor about 5-6 months ago when the old one just completely died
Im guessing this is a bad earth? is there a favourable place to start? bit of a novice

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is the battery ok, might be worth getting it tested.

Yes it does sound like a bad earth.

First one to check is from the starter to the engine/gearbox, not sure exactly where that is located sorry!
Also check the battery terminal connections.
