Title: What should I be paying?

24 year old driver, license for 7 years, 3 years NCB, trying to get insurance on a mk3 golf van 1.9tdi, with a few mods (lowered, respray, alloys, interior mods). Getting quoted in the 700-800 region which I thought was a bit excessive, similar to what I used to pay on my valver!!!

Any help would be appreciated!!

Found out the reason my quotes are so high is because I'm unemployed . . . doesn't seem very fair to me that people not earning any money should be charged more for their insurance!!!
