i got some 17" wheels. tyres are 205/45/17.
they rub on the back and only very slightly on the front. now ive advertised these but not sure if i should sell or not.
the question is if i get the arches rolled and fit all new springs will they still rub.?

Tyres are the wrong size, for a mk3 you need 205/40/17's

will that 5mm really make that much difference????

yep I had 50's on the front and went to 45's - loads more room. Think general rule of thumb is 15"s 50 profile, 16"s 45 profile etc. Drop 5mm per inch

its not actually 5mm either, the middle number is actually the aspect ratio (the percentage of the width of the tyre) :nerd:

You have the same wheels as me mate!
Your wheels will rub even with those tyres on!
Do what I'm doing today and get a hammer to your arches :D
sorted!!

I'm on 40s and still rub, so just messing with the arches but ideally you should have em pulled and rolled!!

I would change the tyres 1st they are too big and messing up your gearing / speedo.

What wheels you running? Ive got 205/40/17 on an 8J wheel and on coilovers it doesnt rub. You could have a pretty low offset wheel
