Well the golf on the second video had 367hp, so that acceleration is more than achievable

Have you any idea of the costs and work involved

Thats ok then, to do it to a good enough standard that it will not go pop the 1st time your looking at around £4k +

I'm going to apologise now for this rant, but it's always a typical answer!
Who gives a flying pig sh!t how much it costs, it's still a hell of a lot cheaper then buying a Mk5 GTi!!
Rant over!
It's an awesome machine and the sound on the second one...OMG!! But yeah it does cost a fair few bob! lol
-
normally a fan of s/g sounds but.... oooh that was nice!!

Who said "like a Hedge seeking missile"? :lipsrsealed:

Sorry but 4pot turbo's sound sooooo weak....although seemed to accelarate quite well.
Rather have a vr/r32 turbo any day of the week, especially if i was spending all that money, time and effort on the car.

Hes only just put a 16v in it, he dont need to be taking it out again.
Although i am with you on the opinion.

should have just done the decent thing in first place and fitted a modified 20vt lump instead of the waste of time abf conversion.
ir even a Turboed or charged VR lump
-
I personally would of fitted a 1.8GL lump, but thats just me.

+1 would have made more sense.

yeah do it, cos the 16v transplant has been trouble free . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :lipsrsealed:

I been toying with the idea now since jus looking at mr vr beofre i brought it, what to go with thou, supercharge kit from america, or turbo it!?!? so confused, i kno a supercharged one with a haywood and scott exhaust, it was out of this world in sound and speed :D £3500 for the supercharge kit i found produced in america :)
-
VR's are generally charged as opposed to Turbo'd but thats only from what i've seen!
We have like 3 down near me  Although one is in a Mk2 ;)
I would be inclined to turbo it just for that insane boost
But then again lads, why do you want top end speed when in Sunny ol' England we can never reach it?
I completly agree with the sound of a Turbo's R32 lump being the nuts, but for track use and even 1/4miles a 16vT Would probably perform better with the right tuning due to the weight! And then you have petrol consumption
I'm still dreaming of my R32 Turbo though, in the tug boat :smug:

yeh, by the sound of it the supercharger alot easier to do aswel, specially seeing as the kits are designed to give you everything you need to get it done! i think that with the mappin, lightened balanced flywheel, manifold back exhaust wud jus be what ive always wanted, people can argue jus go and by a evo/scooby, but why when i can hav MY golf! It hits me whenever im next to say a astra vxr, it grips me that these people think ther cool as f**k, and wana race about, nd i kno i cud give em a go, but even bein a better driver its still out powers nd out accerlerates, thts when i jus think, supercharged, laters mate u jus speant 16000 nd ive made u look a douche infront of yor missus lol! Sad mayb bt we all think it sometimes!! Main thing i jus love my golf, want to stay dub, wana stay mk3 but want the power nd sumit different!

allthough after watching those vids and remembering my days in turbos i really do love the sound and feel off that boost.....once again in 2 minds
