Title: LIMP MODE? whats that all about? AHF TDI HELP
Post by: CHRIS_MC on 23 July 2010, 22:16
Ok, just pieced together my GT TDi AHF 110 (non PD)

and having driven my mk3 for the last 5 months, the mk4 seems slow

now, if when lining the engine up to fit the timing belt if fitted it in such a way that the cam is either advanced or retarded a tooth out, could this be causing it?......

i locked the fuel pump (mechanical) in place, lined the timing mark up to centre (TDC? i think) couldnt lock the cam, but had it lying at horizontal.  basically followed the haynes manual as best i could,

even cleaned the manifolds & egr pipe, basically everything that was coked up,

car seems lacking in serious minirals compared to the mk3 2.sl0w 8v

would adjusting the fuel pump pulley (which has 3 adjustable bolts) help at all?....... thought i should have had more beans that i do

it does feel torque'y in 2nd,3rd but getting it up to 88mph (time travelling speed) is a graft, is it possible even to adjust when the turbo kicks in? i dont have any VAGCOM stuff, or even know what that is , but it is a non PD engine so

any help or advice appreciated
