I created this out of interest to discover what extra (and there are many) GTI drivers prefer
Mine came with a fair few as it was a showroom car but many people will be looking at paying substantial amounts of cash and wondering "is it really worth it?"
So who better to ask than GTI drivers!
-
With all those extras, you could be kind and give us a chance of choosing two.
You're being so tough.
-
Hmm yes on reflection 2 extras may have been better
I have messed up the spelling of "adaptive" is there a way of editing my poll?
also, have I missed off any extras???

Don't know how, but there's chassis and capital 'X' for Xenons.
You've left out: Sunroof, Rear LEDs, FISCON Bluetooth, VW Premium Bluetooth, Cruise Control, RCD510 and Luxury Pack.
Can't think of anything else.
But it's great you started this poll.
Sorry, but you asked.

You haven't got cruise control or RCD510 [with or without Dynaudio] also rear side air bags are an optional extra [although I doubt anyone would vote that as a favourite]

I already voted for my xenons in an earlier poll, but here again I vote for the xenons, followed closely by my sunroof which I have open on tilt nearly all the time I hardly ever use aircon so it has been well worth the extra it cost.
Gizzy

It boils in London, pollution and pollen lovers will be in heaven, tilting a sunroof will tip me towards A&E. I'll climate control my environment on the move and keep out all the crap being thrown at me on the Marylebone Road. Hopefully, then, I'll arrive in a reasonable state of wellbeing and continue posting on this forum in the short time I have left on this troubled earth!

Just realised that you are polling for 'favourite' extra and not 'most useful'.
There is thus quite a distinctive difference.
I will therefore have to change my vote.

Sunroof.
-
+1 ALL my cars have had that...first when on a budget that aftermarket crap form Webasto and Hollandia. ..later on the proper sunroofs from the factory....no discussion...
I choose DSG and am fairly surprised that it is not the greatest extra by far.....you should have seen me enjoying it in my mountain drives incredible....very low revs fast uphill and a torque like a tractor with the smoothness of a Rolls....yes I know I get carried away...but grant me that endulgence....ohh how those Germans where seeking parking spots when I came on their tail......
-
I've picked Parking Camera, as I think the motorised VW badge is genius!
You see a fair number of cars now on the road with reverse cameras, but generally you can see them bulging out beside the number plate lights. Its such a cheap optional extra, but its so well thought out! Other cameras get covered in dirt during Winter, but as the VW one is hidden away it stays clean.
-
My camera is not working ...for months now.....they say software problems...I have to be patient.....they will try to resolve it..a lot of anger...
-
DSG box + diesel power excellent :smug:

I've voted for ACC.
I tried driving in 'Normal' mode both in town and on the motorway and it was unbearable.
'Comfort' setting is a godsend. I love it!
-
Amw1 I think I missed that.....did you retrofitted that...

Factory order. Don't think it can be retro-fitted or retro-fitted at a reasonable cost.

You can tell you are a city dweller...
I can only live with the floatiness of 'Comfort' when driving on awful city streets.
Out on the open road it's tragic...feels like someone has stolen the dampers and left it on the springs.
Normally I leave it in standard/dynamic.
On a decent back road it's straight into 'Sport' and throw the car about a bit.

This I am and without 'Comfort' I'd be very bruised.
I am a very sedate sort-of driver now after my wild experiences with the Honda Type R GT.
I must admit that the suspension tends to crash slightly in 'Comfort' mode, but it is a price worth paying. I don't find it too floaty either. Gives it a big car feel!
Now how many sets of wheels do you have? My guess is 4 sets in total.

Thanks, just wondering...
The 18 inch are a bit more ..uhhh...sportier than the 17 inch...but I would not go as far as to say they give me on bumpy roads an uncomfortable ride...
(or I am used to te... :smug:) in dry weather and in corners they are terrific...
But in the end it is just all about looks... :embarassed: :lipsrsealed:
