Well I can see that most people on this site are "extra" CRAZY!
Personally I had to have the Monza shadows, leather interior and dsg gearbox, so anything else such that came on my showroom car (such as the sat nav, heated seats and parking sensors) were a bonus
So if I were to add further spec what would you recommend??
What's your favourite extra and why??????
PS You can only choose one so select carefully
My favourite is probably the Monza shadows as they look great stationary and even better when they move fast

The xenons
They are the coolest extra I specced on my GTI and I think they look the bees knees, they do a little warm up routine every time you switch them on and down a dark country lane at night the cornering aspect of them is something else.
Would never go back to halogen lights now.

Thanks Amanda for rubbing it in.
My lights don't dance like yours.
My favourite mod: Rear LEDs even though I cannot see them all the time,
My favourite extra: My Ed30 knob. Beautiful to hold and look at. Makes the shift all the more enticing!
My most exspensive and essential extra: My RNS510*
My most useful extra: My VW Premium Bluetooth with voice control. Spooky!
This is a near blatant copy of countrytrucker's format.

Now that is all seriously very nice, I do like the golf ball knob. Tell me is the sat nav good or just average. It's not some yank bint doing the directions is it????

Sat nav. Is good but I am getting to learn how to use it. Her voice is quite soothing and sleep inducing. Good for crashes though. Does you sunroof rattle and produce wind noise at speed, dear?
-
bixenons with AFS is my favorite.
-
For me it's the DSG box which goes hand in hand with the Gtd package!!
-
Monza's are fabulous, and I really like the Jacara cloth seats [glad I didn't go for leather] Don't have a favourite gizmo, like them all; just wish I'd specced xenons.
-
I want Xenons
For me the Shadow Monzas  Everyone comments on how nice they are!
-
My favourite extra - Xenons
My regrettable extra - Leather
My favourite mod - LEDs

Probably a surprise this one but I really rate my VW bluetooth phone kit.
I have the shark fin aerial which looks cool in matching Deep Black Pearl. I always liked the bee sting as well though on previous GTi's.
Syncs up with my Nokia brilliantly, always crystal clear and works great with Voice recognition as well. I do lots of conference calls with the US and voice quality is superb. Very easy to control from the steering wheel.
I never have the comment 'Are you in the car ?'
Brilliant extra, I could not live without it.

fav gizmo = xenons
fav extra = leather
fav gadget = led's (dono if they count in that category or not)

The interior is not full leather and the quality of the leather is not very good, it being of the painted variety. A complete waste of money for what it is. No discussion fom Kev or anyone else. :lipsrsealed: QED.

The leather is very expensive and not worth it I have decided. I have a mark on mine which VW say was my fault where I believe it was the fault of not very hard-wearing leather.
I would have spent the money on a sunroof or DSG if I had known this was going to happen.

Amen to that.

so because one person has had a defect, the whole range of leather is not worth buying ?
I remember reading a Bugatti Veyron broke down at the side of a motorway once.

Oooooooooo! It's not all leather. Not like the whip I use on you!
-
My favorite is at the cheaper end of the list, the rear view camera is worth every penny of the £150!
-
I love the parking sensors and display on the RCD510. Easy to please I am!
-
Brilliant - thanks for all your replies
I think this calls for a poll - think I'll attempt to set one up then everyone can see whats the most popular extra and those thinking of purchasing an extra will have a recommendation from a GTI driver

Oh no, Bonnie is very well behaved, she's a real lady no wind noise from her and certainly no rattles. Heaven forbid.
