Title: Axle Beam Bushes
Post by: Neilos on 05 January 2005, 17:31
Think its about time I had these replaced, the slightest of bumps in the road produces a major thud from the back passanger side, replaced shocks a while ago, discovered it wasn't those.

Anyone know of anywhere in the south east (I'm in Horsham) thats reasonable to get this done, haven't been quoted by VW but have been quoted by a German Car specialist (GCS Monks Gate, Horsham) around ?230!  Is this reasonable??

I am told its a PIG of a job! The old bushes have to be heated up and basically bashed out! Brute force and ignorance!

So unless u know anyone that does things cheap on the side then expect to pay around that figure.

Sorry!

What kit have you got on the car? is a standard suspension?
When the rear bushes go, the back in will be a bit wobbly
