Title: 1996 1.4 airbox
Post by: 95gti8v on 16 July 2010, 20:08
I recently got my Mrs a 96 CL. Part of the intake is missing off the airbox and was wondering does anyone have an engine pic of what this should be like, and would it be the same as MK2 Golf or Polo?

Cheers

Excuise stinking engine bay haven't had time to clean it yet

you don't need that extra pipe. Mk2 carb cars come with it and most of the time owners remove it so air flows better.

Cheers dudes thought it would be similar to Mk2 Golf/Polo, mk3s are a new fangled modern thing to me  Should be able to get a polo/ mk2 one if same.

BTW have new tinfoil for it already LOL

I removed mine and replaced with some flexible pipe of the same diameter and ran it as a cold air feed. No real difference in power, but it breathes easier than with the restrictive taper on the OEM piece.

I kinda prefer keeping stuff OEM tho, sad I know

Would anyone have the part no off it? Mate broke a few polos and might have one
