Title: Mk3 interior in a mk2

Anyone know if the seats and rear bench out of a 5door mk3 golf will fit a mk2 Golf relatively easily...? Obviously anything will fit with abit of hard grafting,just don't fancy messing about really .   :wink:

rears will bolt in, may need to tyrim the parcel shelf supports a bit and iirc you need to change the upper retaining pins for longer ones?

fronts you have 2 options, chop one of the legs off and reweld it further in, or swap all the backrest, base foam and fabric on a 90spec mk2 seat base frame. only issue with doing that is the plastic tray round the bottom of the seat wont fit back on and the height adjust handle is in a different place. just means there will be some holes in the fabric is all

yes I just got a slightly longer bolt and the rear bench just clipped back into place.
I advise you to secure the back bench too (at the bottom). Try avoid welding a bracket in.

Fronts - just chop the foot (the one closest to the window) and reweld / or heat bend 2'' in.

ah forgot about that last bracket on the splitfold bench, what you can do as an alternative is to bolt both halves together at the base, then it will work like a mk2 bench
