Title: 16" Alloys Tyre sizes
Post by: JTTheDevil on 05 January 2005, 00:06
Hi all. Picked up a set of BBS RSII's for my wifes 8v, but they have 205/55r16 on them (standard for Mk4). These are rubbing slightly, so I am looking to get a new set. What are the tyre sizes for the 96/97Anniversary which had similar wheels, or what do you use on your 16" wheels?

Hi, the mk3 GTI anniversary wheels use 215 40 R16's, my friends just bought a set last week.

205/45 would be better on MK4 wheels as they are slightly narrower than anniversary wheels

To keep the speedo reading accurate you need the same rolling radius.

use this calculator: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Dave16v is right, 205/45/16 would be best on a mk4 rxII.

i've got 205 45 16's on my 16v and they suit it well  according to my Road Angel, the speedo is only about 2mph out aswell
