Title: Temp light flashing on cold

Noticed the temperature light flashes when I first start her up from cold. After a short drive, switch off and on the light stops flashing.

Only just got the Golf, so all very new to me. Any ideas or advice for this noobie?

check coolant level

As above but also could be a faulty coolant level sensor or wiring.

coolant level was a little low, left a white sheet under the engine bay over night... god damn it!

Leaking oil and coolant :(
