Just wondering how many annis there are on this forum.
I've got an 8V anni.
-
No but i really want 1
-
Good idea for a poll! I was thinking about this after reading a post yesterday. I bought my 16v from a forum member here, it needed help and I couldn't let it pass as it had 52k on it. Only picture so far I have:

52k on a 16v anni... You lucky devil :(
-
16V anni, Aircon (works) all original, FSH, 126K with a box full of new OEM parts (grill, Boot lock, battery tray etc) wheels need a touch of TLC, new tyres. Needs a new regulator on Pass side, and a rust spot sorting on tail gate.
£900 well happy!
-
2 weeks after buying my car an Anni went for £255 on the bay  Needed a bit of work on the engine but it drove and everything else was sound, was gonna buy it anyway but missed it by half an hour cos are lass dragged me to the shops, b!tch!!!
-
Just picked up my Anni this afternoon

Yup, 16v, Satin Silver, 5 dr, Air Con, slightly modified. Faster/more expensive cars have come and gone...but the Anni remains.
I remember 27th August 1996 well, the day it was collected from the local dealer!

"Slightly modified"...
Everyone knows thats a lie!

these wheels are new have not been refurbished
http://carandclassic.co.uk/car/C86535/ (http://carandclassic.co.uk/car/C86535/)
the BBS standard alloys have just been refurbished back to A1 condition
and i haven't even looked anywhere else!
Mine has exactly one hundred thousand miles on this one. I love it. great car apart from the contrary idle, but no way any MK3 golf (apart from an A59) is worth £7k

Yea i have an anni Red 85000 on a P reg totally love the car had it bout 2 months now
-
Yes, 8v sunroof and black metallic paint. just gone through 2nd mot with no issues exc a small patch of welding at a seat anchor point. bought it with clear mk4 lights front, chrystal fogs and side repeaters, m3 at the back.
needed a damn good clean as been sitting under a tree and the side sill trim had rust and wheels were tatty. All refurbished now, in great nick, 167k miles and drives like a dream.
Brought it cus i couldnt afford a decent mk1, but i love it now, the need to swap it for a mk1 does raise its ugly head from time to time but i can't bring myself to do it.
-
Only 15 on the forums? Thought there would be more than that!
-
Its one forum though (the best one obviously).
I know there is a women who lives near me who has a black 8v, drive really slow, probably had for years with low miles. Just waiting to see her again to make an offer
-

I went with him to pick it up!

I used to work with a guy who had a black one lowish milage 8v. He's not a forum kinda guy but there's another one to add to the list.
My coilovers go on tomorrow. Canne wait!!!
-
iv had mine for over 3yrs mystic blue (8v) 122k mines on it, coilovers, powerflow exhaust & grooved disks. needs abit of work, bonnet has heat marks from engine and scratched big time by some jelous kunt! but i will have to sort that out. i love the car maes me happy (its my pride & joy) as you all know. a car is someones pride. alloys need quiet abit of work but it all comes down to the money. it has that euro look to it (spotlights in grill & Heckblende) looks diffrent

Lol!! Thats mine now. The guy who owned it did love it and look after it he was just unlucky he used a cowboy mechanic to do the last cam belt change (approx 12k miles ago) as they didnt replace the tensioner!! The tensioner sieze up solid on start up and the belt snapped
Not all bad news. I stripped the engine down last week to find a bit of a miracle as there was no bent valves! Very lucky
Although no damage I still stripped the head right down had it skimmed and re lapped the valves. All back together now running sweet as a nut
Got a few other bits to do like repair the drivers seat, source a new steering wheel (more chance of pooping in the queens hand bag me thinks!) and finally try to track down the smoked front fogs, reflectors and indicators these were stolen.
This is how it looks today. Sold the headlights as i didnt really like them. Going for as close to standard as possible

Fantastic Mate....well done for fixing it up and taking the chance. Looks a good base for a tastefully modified Anni.
-
Hey Deano, wasnt really a big chance. I was expecting damage to the head and valves, but I have a spare one of those and worst case it would have needed a replacement engine, I also have one of those
I basically fix up cars with issues, always German cars and a majority are VW's. Must have brought back to life at least 12 Mk3's in the past 18 months. This one is just the latest. I will smoke about in it for a while until its up to standard then it will be up for sale. Its funny although Ive only had it a couple of weeks Im getting really attached to it. I like thats its a little bit special but no one really knows about it as its subtle differences that only true Dubbers would know anything about.
Cheers Jamie
-
Certainly would not take long to sell Mate. I was looking for one myself recently (which is why I spotted yours when advertised) but bought one of my old ones back after I saw it advertised. Fair play for sorting out Mark 3's when a lot of people would be more tempted to break them up.

Nice thanks. Postage is a bit steep on the steering wheel though. I have the others in my watch list already. See how the auction goes.
