Post by: Thebuzinezz on 14 July 2010, 20:51
Hey if any can point out what i am missing this would be great. heres what i did and chcked

symptoms: battery light came on and would flick off if i rev the guts out it. car eventually stoped and a mate jumped started it, still no charge.

right!!! i changed the alternator to a RTX 12V 90AMP and new drive belt.
Now i am plagued by a host of other problems -
1. Battery heating up and spitting fluid
2. headlights keep turning out
3. Instrument pannel resets and has mindof its own basically.

I have checked the battery fuse 30A good and so are all the others and relays i assume are all good number 30 heats up alittle bit not sure (good/BAd)?

I am stuck i dont lnow what next to check... i even bought a new battery still same symptoms argh!!!!

alternator overchargeing.

don't matter what battery it is, all 6 cell wet lead acid batterys are the same voltage and no alternator desinged for said battery should overcharge it regardless of battery size
