my GTI used to be an 8v.
what clocks do i need to get now as its a 16v, its an E reg so it has one plug clocks at the moment. how can i be sure they are 16v clocks when i am buying them??
-
16v ones go up to 160mph
-
cheers neo!!
i will have to try and track down some one plug 160mph ones.
-
if its an e reg it'll be 2 plug clocks. you dont need 16v clocks, 8v ones still work fine. 16v ones just have 160mph speedo and an 8k rev counter
-
these clocks are the ones currently in the car. they look different from the ones on ebay

Is it connected to the Flux Capacitor?
They do look odd though, normaly the mk2 petrol gauge is in the middle of the cluster, speedo on left and revs on right. Small rectangle of warning lights above fuel gauge and water temp above that. Your dials are wierd... Must be rare
-
Looks to me as if u have the earlier 8v clocks with the mpg gauge where the water temp is on the later models, the switch probably switches between modes 1 and 2 on the digital display, one the later modles it's a slider switch on the right hand stalk,do u have this? if not I'd say this is what it's for.

the 1/2 knob is for the mfa, switches between mode 1 and 2.
they look like early scirocco MK2 ones to me, afaik all the MK2s had the 1/2 switch on the stalk but i could be wrong on that.
