Hello.

Can anyone help me im a new member i have recently bought a mk3 8v 3 door golf gti in peppermint green.I have recently seen in the VW PERFORMANCE MAG a mk 3 golf with the front and back wheel arch  trim taken off.I like this affect and want advice is it as simple as taking the trim off and cleaning the paintwork up to the standard off the car?
Can anyone who has done this reply i would be gratefull. My car also came with a morette twinn headlight conversion fully working off which i want to sell anyone interested?.I have put the car back to original headlights any help would be fab.

I would suggest putting the headlights in the parts for sale section mate.

No idea on the other bit sorry!

I dont have the plastic arches on mine(and agree they do look better when there taken off) but cant surgest a good way of getting them of as they were'nt on the car when I brought it sorry.

Thanks for your reply it looks like they are just pop riverted on looks easy to take off but i dont want to fuxk them up so i will have to seek more advice.I would be interested in those pictures that will help mo out.I dont suppose you have had any stalling probs with yours i know theres loads off people asking the same it gets boring but if you have experienced any it would be nice to here.What else have you done to your car im replacing discs/pads soon my golf has vr6 braking system i guess they changed them half way through production.    THANKS .

i have replaced one of my arches on my mk3 before and they are easy to take off. As you say they are simply riveted onto the bodywork and slot into the front bumper (as I recall), so all you have to do is drill the rivets out and hey presto off they come!! Once they are off you will probably need to do a bit of polishing to remove the dirt line which is likely to have formed betweeen the wing and the arch, but doubt it will be that bad.
