Title: 312mm brake upgrade
Post by: snap-on on 11 July 2010, 20:36
just had rtech remap my aum and deffo need to upgrade the front brakes . i need new front discs and pads and can get the same oem parts for about a ton from tps and a tenner cheaper from the motor factors so just as well to get the oem ones .
as the standards are 288mm im thinking of getting the 312mm upgrade , but will they fit with the 17inch santa monica alloys ? a friend said they would as the v6 4motion runs the 312mm set up which a lot of them came with the santa monicas ?
i take it i only need the carriers to upgrade and not the calipers aswell ? and is it worth going the 312 setup or just stick with the 288 and get some red/green stuff pads instead ?

They will indeed.

Yep that's right, as well as 312mm discs obviously.  You can even keep your old pads if you wanted to.

and is it worth going the 312 setup

Definitely :afro:

Check out eBay.  I paid £100 for mine, which is probably a bit too much to be honest.
