Title: jerky on lift off and backfiring (R-tech query?)
Post by: jamie16v on 11 July 2010, 20:32
since adding my fmic i have had backfiring, not loud as the standard exhaust contains it, a little pop and thats it. could you fix this?
also i have noticed that when i lift off i get a jerk instead of a smooth rev down before it revs down properly.
with the backfiring, it only seems to happen when i am driving sensibly like moving from first @ approx 2-3k into second gear.
i will be looking at getting an exhaust next and dont want a loud backfire with that fitted lol (dont like turning heads).
my main concern out of the two problems is the jerky lift off, it`s not a major shud but enough to affect some enthusiastic driving.
another throttle body clean maybe?.

backfiring is normally down to excess fuel in the exhaust igniting.
Try cleaning the plugs
