Title: VAGCOM and random faults?

Okay, this might be moved to MK5 section, but its more of a VAGCOM question.

Friends car was totalled nd she got a replacement MK5 1.4, and is getting around 400miles to £80 of fuel, but for first couple of weeks was getting more.  She borrowed another friends VAGCOM and its so far read - knock sensor, catalytic convertor, and then CANBUS issues, but all of them only appear once?!  Makes no sense as to why the faults are arriving and not reappearing...

any ideas?
