Ok the new caddy project 20vt 6 speed, and retro styling is underway, here is a few pic's

Ok I got a opening window, I have polished it and couldn't resist fitting it to see what it looked like.

This is what I have done to the engine bay so far, removed servo etc... off to teh body shop tomo morning have holes I don't need sorted out and engine bay painted

And this is my lovely straight mint orig tail gate, this caddy took a long time to find but is worth it.
And soon teh reg will changed to G6DUB too :smiley:
Hope to have it finished around April.

lovely example claire/gary hope all things are well with you two aswell, will have to catch up over summer at one of the shows.
Will be bale to see my new motor, replacing the crashed one hopefully in a new haze of glory by showtime, (license allowing) :smiley: :smiley:

is the caddy body very stiff? i would have thought you would have to seam weld the whole shell :undecided:

Don't be silly, a caddy is prob stronger than a mk1 GTi, as it was orig designed to take brick rubble!
Your not going to seam weld the whole of your 16v are you? :wink:

in a hatchback id put a rollcage joining the suspension turrets (space cage or something :huh:), but you couldnt do that in the cab, would look crap :undecided: i would do the engine bay at least :laugh:
