Title: Nitrous into mk2.
Post by: cawsey20 on 08 July 2010, 13:47
Hi there,
Basically instead of selling my track toy i may keep it for that reason !.

Im planning a trip up to santa pod next weekend and have been offered a nitrous kit.
I may just slam it on for a bit of fun.

How easy are they to fit to a mk2 and also where is the best place to attach the nozzles. ?.

Its a 16v by the way    , cheers in advance

i would just (not knowing anything at all) drill an install a one way valve in the air intake manifold after the throttle body

i think that this method will work, see no reason why it wouldnt. Nitro + Air + Fuel = faster!

A mate of mine does the 1/4 mile at pod with nos on his bike, so i emailed him and he sent me this stuff to help you:

The foggers go intake side of the carb/injection rail

A brand new gas kit with a direct port injection to fit a fuel injection Golf
http://www.noswizard.com/product_desc.php?id=58

Some fitting instructions
http://www.solware.co.uk/nitrous-oxide-kits/nitrous-oxide-and-components-fitting-instructions.shtml

A really cool gas site which gives you ALL the info on building your own gas kit using everyday stuff - i.e. fridge stuff
http://www.nitrous.info/car-nitrous-system.htm

This is a plate that the big yank motors use to insert between carb and intake incorporating the foggers

His bike is in bits at the mo, he  blew an oil seal at pod a few months ago (from memory i think he was doing approx 9sec runs)

do it, slap that charger you were on about on it.

I'm just curious to see how long the engine lasts.
