Hey guys.
I've just bought a mk4 golf and its came with a really tacky after market CD Player. I was just wondering what HU's you think are the best, i was possibly thinking of going back to a standard HU from a newer VW. Is that possible?
Thanks, Michael.

Id get an Alpine stuck in there. Good quality units and got one in mine, very happy with it. I wouldnt bother with the VW one, aftermarket ones will send more power to speakers giving a better sound.
Budget?

But i really like the standard look lol! Umm, budget is probably around the £200 mark, just bought a sub and amp so not too worried about the power output!

i had an alpine, pulled it out within 2 weeks, was pants, did sound better than the oem one, not much though, wasn't impressed tbh. looks like blackpool at christmas (sorry winterfest)
i want a pioneer, the mp77 or something i think its called, much better than any alpine i've heard or had.
but its brushed ali, and it wouldn't match if you fited r32 trim
blaupunkt do some nice oem-ish look hu's and kenwood used red/blue lighting on some older models
