Hi all
I dont have off road parking where I live in north London and often find myself wandering to the window to check on my GTI.
I am constantly in fear of someone scratching my vehicle so was perplexed to hear of a chap opposite me who had his BMW 3 series broken into and the airbag nicked!!!!!!!!!!! Is this a wind up?
He said that on the same evening 3 other vehicles had theirs nicked too!
Has anyone heard of airbags being stolen and more importantly, would theives target Golfs?

havent heard of this happening for years, was quite common when airbags first came out

Probably done to order, a cheap way of repairing accident damage where airbags have deployed and the car is deemed beyond economical repair (airbags are probably still quite costly).
Could get a disklok to cover the wheel but then there are airbags all over the place now. Was the beemer alarmed? I'm guessing not.....

Its a common crime nowadays. I've heard of a few stories.
It used to be van windscreens a good few years ago but now seems to have moved on to airbags.

Thanks guys
The BMW was alarmed, as was the owner when he found his airbag missing!
Annoying and worrying. Is there a way I can put an electric current through my GTI so that thieves and scumbags get a shock if they try and touch it?
