I live on a beach and no matter how many times i clean my car by the morning its covered in sand again (if its a ruff night the waves crash agaist the pier and it gets wrecked), i dont mind so much about that as i can clean it, its the fact that the sand is going to mess my paintwork up and if i dont clean it off every day my car is going to rust because of the salf that comes off the sea.... is there any wax that can protect it, even if only slightly....

The beach is an apt place for a mk3!
Collinite waxes are used in the marine industry. I would suggest using these as they provide very good protection and aren't too expensive.
I would try either 876 insulator wax or 845 paste wax. I would prep the car with a clay and polish before you wax it, otherwise you are sealing all the bonded contaminates in.
I would consider parking your car away from the pier where it is getting wrecked... heavy sea spray contains stones and salt which will ruin your car over time.
Wash your car using Bilt Hamber autowash... not only is this a VERY economical shampoo but it contains rust inhibitors so when it comes into contact with bare metalwork/stonechips it won't encourage corrosion.
Do not just brush the sand off as it will scratch your paintwork, especially if you haven't protected it. This includes your windscreen as glass is composed of sand

guy your being over worked and under paid
476 paste wax and 845 insulator wax
the rest of what guy said is spot on mate
also consider megs mirror glaze #16 a very similar wax to the collinite range

Put a cover over it

Put a cover over it
not a good idea im afraid as the cover will trap sand/dust ext between it and the car and will rub it onto the paint/clearcote.
