Title: bad times with the mk2 gti driveway find..........

just been playin around with my bargin find and yes the 2.0 16v abf engine is ceased :cry: :cry: :sad:
this is a sad day as now i dont no wot to do, :undecided:

do i break the car or find a new engine in????

since ive picked her up i havint spent a penny on her as yet,

all ive done is cleaned the interior as it was mouldy and got the old matrix out...


wot to do wot to do?????? :undecided:

Get a new engine! If the bodywork is in decent condition then you might as well! Look at it as if you are saving another one from the scrappy! :laugh:

the shell is to good to scrap its 99% rust free,
wot it comes down to is how much another engine is gonna cost me as its more money i need to put into it.....doin the work doesn't bother me as i can do it.......

thanks for the link but mines a 16v...

trust me peeps i dont wanna break it if i dont want to. its just more time n cost someting im lacking at the mo....

If funds are tight but time and space is not an issue get cracking on tidying it up and save up for a new lump. You can pick up a replacement ABF for not too much money.

Yup ABF's are not megabucks, especially if you get them attached to a free SEAT selling bits off that can ease the impact on the pocket.

You could look at it as a blessing in disguise, you get to put whatever you want in there.
Also I have a KR and an ABF if you're needing either of them, just drop me a PM if you like.

space isn't an issiue as i've got it on the drive :wink: missus is cool as she cant move the car lol so can stay as long as it likes hahaha..
thing is i've got ichy fingers and i want it on the rd NOWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!
think b4 i make my mind up totally im gonna surch for a lump price up everything that the old beast wants then go from there.....
