either a boost leak or sticky turbo vanes

have a good poke around your boost pipes

Look for any signs of oily film - that's normally a good indication.  Also check the condition of the o-rings, clips and lugs.  The clips snap, the lugs wear under movement and the o-rings can perish

ok cheers. if it was the vanes or a leak would limp mode come on more often? as its only realy happening on long journey after about 100 miles doing about 80-85mph then wen i put my foot down to overtake it starts to boost then shuts down into limp mode. think its happend 4 times in the last 3-4 months.

that sounds like sticky vanes to me

Although Steve had a similar problem but I think his was down to a loose fitting boost pipe  :undecided:  It only came loose under high load i.e 5th / 6th gear and at those sorts of speeds.  Think the lugs were completely worn away

Should have done but equally its only a temporary measure - they may be too far gone for anything to work  :undecided:

If you can get the car up on a jack and don't mind getting your hand dirty then its easier enough to check.  Perhaps get your mate to give you a hand so that way you learn a bit about your car

had the same on a friends pd130, ended up being a dodgy n75 valve thankfully.
