Title: sunroof, mk4
Post by: mcgee9t2 on 03 July 2010, 00:07
not sure if this should be in the mk4 section or here

i went to open my sunroof the other day, pulled the cover part, but instead of pulling it by the handle (which is in the middle) i pulled it at one side, subsiquently (sp?) the little metal parts that slide along the runners have moved up into the actual sun roof mechanismes at the side of the sunroof, anyone done this before and know the easiest way of geting them to sit back on the runners?

(quite hard to try and explain this after a few too many at the pub)

ide imagine the easiest way is a pair of pliers, but any other sugestions please share.
thanks

Had this happen, you got the rails on the side, then the cover itself has metal strips bent into a V which push into the rails. All I did was bent it back, put the roof back in position and then bent it corrctly into its old shaped as mine got seriously bent when then came off, not a problem since, I did it with pliers as you described, been going good for a year (squeked at first but is now fine).

I had this, wasn't quite sure at the time what it was, but had to remove the headliner to find out!  :lipsrsealed:
